The new CCIE Data Center certification program prepares you for today’s expert-level job roles in data center technologies. CCIE Data Center now includes automation and programmability to help you scale your data center infrastructure.
One of the industry’s most respected certifications, CCIE distinguishes you as a technical leader.
To earn CCIE Data Center, you pass two exams: a qualifying exam and hands-on lab exam.
First, take the qualifying exam, Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (DCCOR 300-601), which focuses on your knowledge of data center infrastructure.
You can prepare for this exam by taking the training course, Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (DCCOR).
The qualifying exam earns a Specialist certification, so you can get recognized for your accomplishments along the way.
Second, take the 8-hour, hands-on lab exam that covers the end-to-end lifecycle of complex data center networks, from designing through deploying, operating, and optimizing.
On February 24, 2020, the new CCIE Data Center v3.0 certification will replace the current CCIE Data Center v2.1.
If you have started working toward the current CCNP Data Center certification, keep going. In the new program, you’ll receive credit for work you’ve completed in the current certification.
If you pass the current CCIE Data Center Written v2.1 exam before February 24, you will be eligible to take the new CCIE Data Center v3.0 lab exam after February 24.
After February 24, the CCIE Data Center Written v2.1 exam will be replaced with DCCOR 300-601. After you pass DCCOR 300-601, you will earn the Cisco Certified Specialist - Data Center Core certification.
If you complete the entire CCIE Data Center certification before February 24, then as of February 24, you’ll maintain your CCIE Data Center certification as per the new recertification guidelines, and you will also receive the Cisco Certified Specialist - Data Center Core certification.
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Data Center, but you should have a thorough understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
CCIE candidates are recommended to have five to seven years of experience with designing, deploying, operating and optimizing data center technologies and solutions prior to taking the exam.
CCIE Data Center certification is valid for three years. For more information about recertifying, visit the Recertification page.
